On Wednesday, April 2, 2025, from 11:00 to 13:00, the Opening Ceremony of the 9th Thessaloniki International Monuments Festival will take place at the Archaeological Museum of Thessaloniki. This highly successful event has been warmly embraced by the public, local government, and the academic community of the city.

The ceremony will include speeches by representatives of the collaborating institutions and a presentation of the Festival’s program.

The Festival is co-organized by the Cultural Association IAMOS and the Thessaloniki Tourism Organization, with the support of the Ephorate of Antiquities of the City of Thessaloniki, the Archaeological Museum of Thessaloniki, and the Service of Modern Monuments and Technical Works of Central Macedonia. It contributes to the promotion of the city’s rich monumental heritage. Additionally, the Festival is held under the auspices of the Municipality of Thessaloniki and the Ministry of Tourism, and features a wide range of cultural activities. Its main event is the “Thessaloniki Monuments Route”, which this year will take place on Sunday, May 25, passing through eight significant historical monuments in the Upper Town of Thessaloniki.
