The exhibition presented burial offerings from amber, originating from seven cemeteries of the Basilicata region of southern Italy and date from the 8th th the 4th c. BC. 

Amber, that unique and precious material, due to its transparent texture and its attributes was a valuable commodity in amulet making. Investigations in cemeteries at the south of Italy revealed important elements on trade, processing and circulation of amber and offered to the archaeological community a rich corpus that highlights the living standards and the high aesthetic criteria of the inhabitants from that very early era.

Selected jewellery made of amber that were found in Macedonia were also added to the exhibition. The exhibition was accompanied by a short guide in Greek and English.
