The exhibition was organised alongside the International Conference on the History of Glass that took place in Thessaloniki in September 2009.
It included more than 400 glass artefacts of exceptional art and technique from northern Greece.
The exhibition included old and new finds and was organised in collaboration with 11 ephorates of Antiquities and the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. It was divided into units that dealt with the early uses of glass, the techniques, the trade, the various daily and more specific uses, the funerary uses, with an extensive unit consisting of representative glass artefacts from the cemeteries of Macedonia, Thrace and Thessaly.
The exhibition was accompanied by an informative leaflet and an exhibition catalogue.
