"Ceramics and Technology | Manufacturing Techniques – Experimental Reproductions – Petrographic Analysis"

The Archaeological Museum of Thessaloniki and the Laboratory of Chemical, Physical Research & Archaeometry invite you to the archaeometric lectures to be held on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, at 11:30 AM. The lectures are part of the "Measuring Culture through Archaeometry" initiative and focus on the technology of ceramic manufacturing, experimental reproductions, and petrographic analysis.

Program:
Dr. Georgia Kordatzaki: "Technology in the Spotlight: People and Practices - Case Studies of Prehistoric Ceramics."
Dr. Anastasia Gadolou: "Techniques and Craftsmanship in the Manufacture of Architectural Models from Achaea in the Early Historical Period."

The topics to be discussed include raw material selection, manufacturing techniques, and microscopic observation of ceramic objects.
