Poetry in the shape of things

The new online activity of the Archaeological Museum of Thessaloniki!

The AMTh presents calligrams of Greek poems in the shape of its antiquities and call the online visitors to create their own calligrams.

The calligram, that is, the arrangement of a poem, a story or a phrase, in the shape of an object that is described or implied in the text, goes back to visual poems of the Hellenistic era, known as the technopaignia.

The visitors' calligrams will be presented in an ongoing digital exhibition of the Archaeological Museum of Thessaloniki that will be opened on May 18, 2020 on the occasion of International Museum Day!
