The Ephorate of Antiquities of Kilkis and the Archaeological Museum of Thessaloniki are organising the scientific meeting "The World of Morrylos" as the culmination of the temporary exhibition "Metropolis Morrylion" (15.02.2024 – 15.12.2024). The event will feature eight presentations covering the history of research, political organisation, institutions, worship, and burial customs of the ancient city, located in the modern settlement of Ano Apostoli, approximately 18 km southwest of Kilkis. Morrylos, a city in ancient Krestonia, was home to a significant sanctuary dedicated to Asclepius, from which statues of the god and his family, as well as dedicatory inscriptions, have been discovered, identifying the ancient city.
