Tribute concert to Oscar Ghiglia

The Archaeological Museum of Thessaloniki is organising a unique event dedicated to the legend of classical guitar, Oscar Ghiglia, who recently passed away. Ghiglia spent the last 14 years of his life in Thessaloniki, leaving an indelible mark on the city's musical life.

The concert will feature renowned guitarists, including his wife, Elena Papandreou, and two of his most beloved students, Vojin Kocić and Thodoris Theodoroudis, honouring his overall contribution to the art of guitar.

The concert is a production of the Thessaloniki State Symphony Orchestra, in collaboration with the Archaeological Museum of Thessaloniki, as part of the Dimitria Festival.

Additionally, excerpts from the documentary "Oscar’s Lesson", directed by Salvo Cuccia and produced by Antonio Bellia (Demetra Produzioni), will be screened.

Special thanks to Maurizio Grandinetti for providing the excerpts.

The event will be introduced by Simos Papanas.
