Opening of the temporary exhibition «Bringing to life Aegean Late Bronze Age Costume».

Experimental reproductions of costumes bring to life in a vivid and direct way the dressing preferences and peculiarities of the Minoan and Mycenaean society which are known mainly through cretomycenean art.

Creator of the experimental costumes is Diana Wardle, a research archaeologist, scientific collaborator of the University of Birmingham and a member of the British School at Athens. Wardle studied in detail the representations in wall paintings and miniature sculptures, as well as the weaving technology of the vertical loom.

Exhibition duration from May 10 to June 30 2019.
